This winter edition of making inferences is a great way to get your students to use clues to make inferences about different scenarios. Each of the activities described is related to winter. The teacher or group leader will read short descriptions that describe actions, events or places then they will make an inference about each card based on clues and determine if they have that action or place on their BINGO card.

This resource includes:

  • a total of 30 BINGO cards
  • 40 inferencing clues

I have also included alternative ways to use the clue cards:

ACTIVE LISTENING

By altering the inferencing clue cards, students can listen to each other to carefully to infer the clue being read. Challenge groups to read the clue once, maybe twice! to guess the action, events or places. This alternate activity includes:

  • Inferencing clues without answers
  • Recording sheet
  • Answer key

WRITING CHALLENGE: Making Connections

You can also challenge students to make connections between the cards and their own lives to write a story - writing paper included!

BONUS! I have also included a winter vocabulary word list to help students with spelling and making connections.

SECOND BONUS! I have included a winter vocabulary word search for early finishers.
